Great recording by U.Ali Akbar Khan! The slight problem with the recording is that it is most definitely NOT U.Alla Rakha on tabla. It is relatively very easy to distinguish his style, bols, theka, and it is so different that any initiated ear can easily tell. The tabla player is either from Delhi gharana or Lucknow gharana. The tabla player on this recording is technically so weak, that even the least developed student of a great tabla-maestro would be way better, not to mention Alla Rakha, whose virtuosity was legendary in the 60's.
